Does impregnated wood have to become Toxic Waste?
Many years ago we started a long term strategy to develop an effective impregnation method without the metal oxides used today.
To minimise the problems of moulds and rot with natural methods should be the way of the future.
Time is on our side. The Swedish and Nordic building markets are growing stronger. The environmental aver ness and the legislature is working in our direction. Architects, Builders and Consumers are more and more demanding the use of natural products and less toxins.
The pressure impregnated wood of today is not as good as it used to be.
An investigation done in the fall of 2005 by the Swedish Wood Protection Union and SP, Swedish Test Institute, shows that more than 90% of the impregnated wood not marked with NTR on the marked was of inferior and bad quality. Most of them were imported.
