Impregnation

The main part of Linotech’s growth in the coming years is expected to take place in the Impregnation Division. Linogard has been accepted on the market and is now facing an expansion phase.

Background

The Impregnation Division’s products include the impregnant LINOGARD and the impregnation method LINOTECH. The patented agent and method are expected to become an effective alternative to existing pressure impregnation methods in which toxic substances like CCA (chromium, cupper, and arsenic) are used. As a consequence of increasing environmental demands and restrictions, primarily within the EU, larger markets are likely to open up for the Linotech impregnation technology. Some Swedish municipalities have introduced a fee for deposition of wood impregnated with toxic substances.

LINOGARD, the company’s impregnation agent, is a unique product that is the result from 15 years of research and 10 years of tests on one of our best known natural products, linseed oil.

Throughout, the objective has been to develop an environment-friendly and effective alternative to traditional toxic impregnation.

The main idea is to remove one of the main prerequisites for the degrading micro-organisms, namely moisture, thereby reducing the risk for rot.
